Domestic Travel Information

We’re sorry to let you know that the AGS 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting (#AGS20), scheduled for May 6-9, 2020, in Long Beach, CA, has been canceled. Given recent recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this decision helps us put the health and safety of our members, their patients, and Long Beach residents first.

We recognize you may have questions, and we've compiled this Q&A to address as much as we can.

Transportation

The Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center is conveniently located and accessible from Los Angeles International (LAX), Long Beach (LGB), and SNA Orange County Airports.  Click here for driving directions from Long Beach area airports.

Is your ID a "Real ID"? 
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently established new “Real ID” minimum security standards for driver’s licenses and state identity cards used for boarding domestic flights in the U.S. Residents of certain states may need additional identification documents to clear security. Click here for more information and to see whether identification issued by your state complies with new security standards.  In advance of your departure for #AGS20, we strongly suggest contacting your carrier to confirm your identification documents will be valid for travel.

Airport Shuttle Service

Taxi service is also available from the ground transportation location at any of the airports.

Parking

The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center has more than 4,000 parking spaces around the Center in three parking garages and one ground level parking lot. Rates may vary by event and are in effect seven days a week.  Parking is approximately $15 per car per entry.  The AGS does not validate parking!

Transportation Information: 

Long Beach Airport (LGB) provides commercial service to 18 nonstop destinations, with connections worldwide. LGB is served by Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, American Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest Airlines
Alternative area airports include Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Orange County's (SNA). These airports offer hundreds of flights into and out of the area and are only a quick 30 minutes from Long Beach.  Click here for driving directions from alternative area airports

International Travel Arrangements

Due to increased security for citizens and visitors, the U.S. has updated its policies for visas.  Specific information on passport and visa documents required to visit from other countries can be found at https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en.html.  If you require a visa to visit the U.S., it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible for timely processing of your documents.
