WHEN
Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm ET
DESCRIPTION
In this interactive workshop, participants will hear from an AGS Workgroup reviewing STEADI and identifying recommendations to the CDC for their consideration as they update the tool. Participants will be asked what they are doing in their own clinical settings for fall prevention and if they use STEADI, how well it works for them, and any challenges they may come across when implementing the tool. Participants will have the opportunity to provide input on draft proposed recommendations and an opportunity to consider if they are more easily applicable in your care setting (with an emphasis on primary care).

WHEN
Friday, May 3, 2024, ET, 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm ET
DESCRIPTION
This workshop aims to equip interdisciplinary geriatrics educators with the competence needed to help them in lifelong growth as educators for the purpose of enhancing their impact. The intended audience includes geriatrics educators, educational scholars, and educational leaders involved in undergraduate, post-graduate, and continuing education from all interprofessional backgrounds.
The workshop will employ instructional modalities of interactive mini-lectures, use of the chat, small group discussions centered on application of material, large group debriefs, and Q&A. Three 5-10 minute presentations will cover the landscape of geriatrics educator careers, the ACGME clinician educator milestones, and practical resources to develop educator skills. A breakout session will allow for participants to apply the ACGME clinician educator milestones to their own professional growth. Groups will be 4-5 participants each and each group will be assigned 1 of 3 preselected ACGME milestones to discuss (Teaching and Facilitating Learning; Leadership Skills; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Learning Environment). Participants will review the Milestones for the assigned sub competency, discuss how they could apply these Milestones in current or future profession.
