Moderator: Daniel Forman, MDThe overall goal of this session is to explain the overall VA Office of Research Development (ORD) reorganization plan, with specific reference to the opportunities for aging research. In particular, the aging Research Integration Program will be explained, with clarification of its structure, portfolio, and process. The alignment of the VA with Age Friendly healthcare will also be explained. The related intent of the session is to provide audience participant opportunities to ask questions and engage with VA Research leadership. Furthermore, clarification of VA research opportunities and process in the context of ongoing government changes and cutbacks will be explained as much as possible. Learning objectives: (1) explain the ORD reorganization plan, with specific reference to its impact on aging research opportunities; (2) explain the Research Integration Group, both in respect to its intent as well as the process with which it can be navigated; (3) discuss the VA’s commitment to research aligned with Age Friendly priorities.
