This is an interactive, interprofessional workshop aiming to demonstrate how to incorporate harm reduction strategies into the care of older adults taking prescription and non-prescription opioids. Learning Objectives: (1) recognize harm reduction as an integral part of geriatrics care; (2) list best practices for prescribing opioids in older adults to maximize harm reduction; (3) prescribe buprenorphine for pain control and harm reduction in older adults: (4) demonstrate the use of intranasal naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and xylazine test strips.
